Welcome to the Journal of Islamic Economics and Business Perspectives (JIEBP)

JIEBP is a peer-reviewed open-access journal published by the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, Cordoba Islamic University of Banyuwangi. The journal is dedicated to advancing scholarship and practical insights in Islamic economics, Islamic finance, and Islamic business management, with a strong commitment to ethical, values-based research that addresses contemporary global challenges.

Focus and Aims

JIEBP publishes scholarly articles that explore how classical Islamic economic principles can guide sustainable growth, financial inclusion, and ethical enterprise in today’s world. We welcome interdisciplinary contributions that combine conceptual frameworks, empirical studies, and critical analyses across (but not limited to) the following areas:

  • Islamic Economic Thought and Policy – Maqāṣid al-Sharī‘ah in economic development, comparative Islamic–conventional economic systems.
  • Islamic Finance and Banking – Sharia-compliant banking, fintech, sukuk, microfinance, and risk management.
  • Islamic Business and Entrepreneurship – Corporate governance, halal industry development, digital entrepreneurship, and social responsibility.
  • Social Welfare and Philanthropy – Zakat, waqf, Islamic social finance, and community empowerment.
  • Interdisciplinary and Emerging Issues – Environmental sustainability, behavioral economics, and best practices in Islamic economic models.

Purpose of the Journal

JIEBP serves as an academic platform for lecturers, researchers, practitioners, students, and community activists to publish and disseminate scientific work that:

  • Contributes to the strengthening and empowerment of society through Islamic economic principles.
  • Enhances the role of higher education in shaping ethical and competitive economic practices.
  • Fosters cross-disciplinary and institutional collaboration.
  • Supports the realization of a globally minded, values-driven, and competitive Muslim society.

Publication Frequency

JIEBP is published twice a year (August and December) in Open Access format, ensuring that all articles are freely available to academics, researchers, practitioners, policy makers, and the wider public.
