Reviewer Guidelines
1. Initial Review
- Scope & Relevance
• Confirm that the manuscript fits within JIEBP’s aims and scope Islamic economics, Islamic finance, Islamic business management, and related contemporary issues. - Abstract Screening
• Read the abstract to ensure the topic matches your expertise. If it does not, notify the editor immediately. - Research Question
• Evaluate whether the study is significant, original, and contributes meaningfully to the field of Islamic economics and business. - Methodology (for research papers)
• Assess whether the research design, data collection, and analysis methods are appropriate and rigorous, or if there are critical flaws. - Initial Impression
• Decide whether the paper is: - Acceptable with only minor comments,
- Requires major revisions or resubmission, or
- Rejected due to fundamental issues.
2. Full Review
- Scientific Quality
• Are the objectives clear and the results substantial?
• Are arguments logical, well-structured, and supported by sound reasoning and evidence?
• Are interpretations consistent with the data presented? - Writing & Presentation
• Is the manuscript logically organized and easy to follow?
• Are terminology and abbreviations used correctly?
• Is grammar, punctuation, and spelling at an acceptable level? Provide examples if language issues are systemic, but do not attempt full editing. - Style & Format
• Does the manuscript follow JIEBP’s style, formatting, and referencing requirements (APA 7th edition)?
• Are all citations accurate and properly documented?
3. Reviewer Ethics
- Treat all manuscripts and related communication as strictly confidential.
- Decline the review if you have any conflict of interest (financial, institutional, or personal).
- Provide objective, evidence-based, and constructive feedback to help authors improve their work.
- Avoid personal criticism of the authors.
4. Recommendation
Select one of the following recommendations when submitting your review:
- Accept (with or without minor revisions),
- Revisions Required (minor or major),
- Resubmit for Review (conditional acceptance after substantial revisions),
- Reject (with clear, evidence-based reasons).
